The right hand photo is at the start of Mason UK’s involvement. It’s of the cinema part of the job, you can see the steel framework in picture, the raked seating was built onto this. Click to enlarge the photos.

Concrete Plinths & Void Formers

On the left hand photo you can see the concrete plinths. These were used to place the jacks on. The gaps in between were filled with polystyrene void fillers (as you can see on the photo to the right). This was to act as a base for the poured concrete. Once the floors are jacked the concrete floors will not be in contact.

Floating Floor Construction

The left hand photo shows the mesh and floating floor jacks laid out over the plinths and void formers. The right hand photo shows the cured concrete being jacked. Each level was poured separately but connected by reinforcing and later jacked as one.
