Bowling Alley Vibration Isolation, Westfield Stratford City

Mason UK designed and installed our FS jack-up spring floating floor system to isolate this 14 lane bowling complex from the multiscreen cinemas above.

The installation was completely managed by Mason UK, which involved complex organisation since at the time the site was the largest in Europe.

The 14 lanes were split between 4 seperate floating floors. The purpose of this was to prevent the air coupling effect associated with larger floating slabs. Air coupling can raise the overall natural frequecy of the floor system making it less effective. The target system frequency of 6Hz was achieved.

The jack up spring floating floor is used for low frequency isolation or where impact isolation is required, such as bowling alleys, gymnasia and health clubs.

Concrete Floating Floors

Floating floors systems are used for many purposes, predominantly to prevent noise passing through the floor but also to isolate against vibration and impact.
